Bill Payment made accessible from the homescreen

As TWID introduced BBPS, one of the key goals was to ensure users could easily discover and access utility bill payments within the app. Since users don’t typically expect to pay bills using reward points, the feature needed high visibility.


We added a “Pay Bills with Rewards” section on the homescreen, starting with a biller category grid and a rewards highlight strip. Once the user’s bills were fetched via BBPS APIs, we dynamically surfaced due bills at the top, making it easier for them to act immediately.

Enabling faster payments for returning users

Bill payments are repetitive. Users often pay the same billers monthly, yet most apps force them to start from scratch each time.

We designed a Quick Pay module that remembers a user’s past billers and payment amounts.


  • With just two taps, users could pay again — using UPI or reward points.

  • This saved time and helped build a habit loop around the feature.

First-time users often don’t know if their biller is supported. Lack of brand logos or structure created uncertainty.

We built a clean grid of categories (like Electricity, Gas, Broadband) supported by

  • Intuitive icons

  • Fuzzy search support

Post Payment Feedback that builds trust

Post-payment anxiety was a recurring issue. Users didn’t know if the bill was paid, or if rewards were applied.

We redesigned the success screen to:

  • Show transaction confirmation

  • Display earned rewards clearly

  • In case of failure, offer next actions instead of generic errors

At the core of the BBPS flow is the ability to either earn or redeem reward points, but not both simultaneously. To build clarity and drive engagement, we nudged users throughout the journey with contextual cues.


  • Before payment, we highlighted the potential reward earnings or available points to redeem, based on the biller and payment method.

  • On the payment screen, we included toggles and summaries that helped users understand the exact value of the rewards.

  • After the transaction, the user saw a clear confirmation — either how many points they earned or how much they saved.

Integrated merchant offer to drive savings and conversion

To further incentivize bill payments, we integrated merchant-powered offers within the BBPS flow. These offers allowed users to:


  • Earn coupons or discounts for paying specific bills

  • Get limited-time cashback or scratch cards from participating billers

  • See savings upfront, which helped in decision-making


These dynamic offers made the bill payment journey more rewarding and encouraged users to choose TWID over traditional utility apps.
